Mo Bottom Project: Fronted by singer-songwriter Steve Givens, this group of old musical friends includes guitarist John Caravelli, keyboardist Phil Cooper, drummer Pat Dillender and bassist Gerry Kasper. The Mo Bottom Project brings together both original and intimate story songs and high-energy music from other American roots traditions, including jazz, folk, rock and gospel music. All born, raised or long-time residents of St. Louis’ northside and North County, the band draws its name from the Missouri Bottom Road, a long stretch of asphalt that skirts the fields along the Missouri River from Florissant to Bridgeton.
Rita Sextro (piano and vocals) and Lucian Matoushek (guitar and vocals) are regulars at Hendel’s Market Café in Old Town Florissant. Their strength lies in the blending of their voices, allowing them to tackle tight harmony arrangements like those of The Civil Wars, whose music they often cover.
This is a Fundraising Event for Walter’s Walk, a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit, counseling center. We provide counseling and other integrated services to all, regardless of ability to pay.
