Proud to Be American! Wednesday Night Out in Old Town Florissant!
At 6:00 The John Bourgeois Band will play, starting off this fun community event, sponsored by Florissant Old Town Partners and hosted by VFW Post 4105, Amore Pizza, Phancy Fingers and Feet & Boutique, and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
The event is located in the parking lot of the 400 block of St. Francois Street in Old Town Florissant. Music, food, hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, pizza specials, soda, water, beer, crafts and games for the kids, raffle, Kona Ice snowcones, Kling Kamera Booth and more. Florissant Valley Fire District, Eddie the Florissant Police Dog and more will be there. Wild Bird Sanctuary will be there will an American Eagle.
The 32nd plaque for the Walk Through History will be at 7:45 honoring USAF Lt Michael J. Blassie, previously the unknown service member from the Vietnam War buried at the Tomb of the Unknown who was awarded the Medal of Honor. Michael died in 1972 when his A-37 Dragonfly was shot down in what was then South Vietnam. He was a resident of Florissant who graduated from St. Louis University High School. In 1998 he was finally brought home to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
National anthem will be sung by Lady J Huston, flags presented by the 12th District Color Guard, riflemen, gun salute, taps and more will make this an honorable dedication.
This is our patriotic salute to America and all of our veterans, active duty, and first responders. It is about being a Proud American! Please come in honor of Lt Michael Blassie.
Tables and chairs will be set up but you can bring your own also. All of our Wednesday Night Outs in the summer are kid friendly and family oriented!
