Hazelwood CERT Blood Drive
Give the gift of life to others by donating blood at Hazelwood CERT's Blood Drive on Sat., Oct. 13, from 10 am to 2 pm. The event will be held at Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, in White Birch Park. Participation is open to all Hazelwood residents and people living in surrounding North County communities. Appointments can be made ahead of time to avoid waiting in line. Contact Steve Rahmberg, president of Hazelwood CERT, at (314) 921-4762.
Having an adequate supply of blood available for unexpected disasters is a huge part of emergency preparedness. Every 3 seconds a patient needs blood. Not only is blood needed for those involved in automobile accidents or trauma emergencies, but also for people who are scheduled for surgeries at local hospitals on a daily basis. Blood is the essential lifeline that keeps people alive.
The time you take to give blood can add more precious time to someone else's life. A unit of donated blood can save the lives of up to 3 people through the use of red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells. Sign up today and make a difference in your community.
